Ginolis provides Salofa with customised automation solutions that give the company flexibility. “I was personally familiar with Ginolis’ operations even before its current name,” says Mika Saramäki from Salofa, explaining the collaboration. “We knew that Ginolis had supplied similar equipment to other operators, which gave us confidence. It was reassuring to know that the solutions had been proven effective.”
Salofa manufactures products for several diagnostic companies, and collaboration with one customer required a customized production automation: “We wanted a customisable solution that we could use flexibly in the production for other clients.” According to Saramäki, it was easy to turn to a familiar operator. They also wanted to collaborate with a Finnish partner. “We wanted maintenance and support services to be close to us,” Saramäki says.
Ginolis designed a customised solution to meet Salofa’s production requirements. It included features such as the ability to feed NFC tags and other special features that stand out in the market. “We can run very different types of cassettes on the same device,” Saramäki says. “It gives us the flexibility we need.”
The partnership has significantly increased Salofa’s daily production volume and opened up new market opportunities. “Contract manufacturing plays a crucial role for us,” Saramäki says. He believes that cooperation with Ginolis will deepen even further. “With new customers and needs, the software must be updated with new customized features. Thanks to the adaptability of the Ginolis device, we can start production with a new client even on short notice.”
The automation solutions provided by Ginolis have also reduced the amount of manual work. “Previously, there were 5 people involved in one production line, and now just one person can handle it,” Saramäki says. “It increases our operational flexibility and speeds up delivery to our customers.”
