Ginolis introduces Kaiku, a powerful new software designed to transform manufacturing through deep data insights, traceability, and predictive maintenance.

Designed with customers, for customers

Kaiku was developed with extensive input from Ginolis customers and team members. Ian Walker, Key Account Manager and Project Manager at Ginolis, played a key role in identifying the need for more robust data tools through his work with clients. “Kaiku gives Ginolis many insights into how the machines are performing in the customer environment,” Ian explains.

Software developer Ilkka Sormunen, who has over ten years of experience at Ginolis, led the development of Kaiku. The goal was clear: offer Ginolis’ customers a way to access detailed information on machine performance, traceability, and meaningful statistical data to support decision-making. The development journey began two years ago, with six pilot customers participating in testing. The first customer installation was completed in May last year—marking a key milestone.

Comprehensive traceability and data collection

Kaiku enables full traceability across every process step. The software collects:

  • Quality control images
  • Production parameters
  • Machine data

This detailed data is tied to each product, making it easier to track issues and improve efficiency. It also supports predictive maintenance, helping avoid downtime. One of Kaiku’s standout features is patch data collection. This enables Ginolis and its customers to analyze:

  • Production yield
  • Output rates
  • Quality control metrics
  • Environmental conditions

This helps identify issues early and take proactive steps to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Ginolis plans to integrate Kaiku into all new machines and retrofit it into existing ones in the field. This allows all customers to benefit from real-time data and predictive tools. “The productive side of things is going to be useful for us. It’ll be nice to get in front of that curve a little bit and provide the customer with accurate data about what their machines are doing,” Ian Walker adds.

Kaiku is a key part of Ginolis’ commitment to delivering innovative, data-powered manufacturing solutions. It gives manufacturers the tools to optimize production, reduce waste, and stay competitive in a fast-changing world.
